Frequently Asked Questions

Services & Engagement

What types of IT services do you provide?

We provide IT support for both home users and small businesses, including troubleshooting and repair, network setup and support, ongoing system maintenance, and project-based work.

We do not require long-term contracts. Instead, we prefer to work on an as-needed or project-based basis, which helps keep costs down and gives customers the freedom to choose to work with us because it makes sense for them — not because they are locked into an agreement.

Do you support home users as well as small businesses?

Yes. We support both home users and small businesses, and we approach each with different goals in mind.

For home users, the focus is on clear, affordable help with everyday technology issues — getting systems working properly without unnecessary upsells or complexity.

For small businesses, the focus is on reliability and security for day-to-day operations, with support that adapts as business needs change over time, without forcing long-term contracts or unnecessary platform changes.

Do you offer consultations or evaluations?

Yes. We offer free initial evaluations to help determine whether we're a good fit for your needs.

Evaluations can be done by phone, remotely, or through an on-site appointment, depending on the nature of the issue. After the evaluation, we provide a written evaluation report — delivered electronically or in hard copy — to help you in making an informed decision on a path forward.

What if my issue is outside your expertise?

No one person or company can solve every IT problem. If an issue falls outside our expertise, we'll be upfront about it and help point you in the right direction.

We have established relationships with other trusted professionals in the area and, when appropriate, can recommend someone better suited to handle a specific need. Our goal is to see problems resolved properly, even if that means involving another provider.

Platforms & Ownership

Do you offer discounts for Veterans or Senior Citizens?

Yes. We offer a 10% discount for Active Duty Military, Veterans, and Senior Citizens. This discount applies to labor charges.

Any materials, hardware, or software that may be recommended are the responsibility of the individual to purchase or supply. If you qualify for the discount, just let us know when you contact us.

What is WITS CMS, and who is it for?

WITS CMS is a content management system developed and used by WITS to give site owners long-term control over their websites. It allows owners and authorized users to update and manage content at any time without needing a developer or programmer.

The system is designed for organizations that want to own their content, avoid vendor lock-in, and maintain flexibility as their needs evolve. While WITS CMS is not required to use our services, it is well suited for businesses and organizations that value clarity, maintainability, and independence from proprietary platforms.

Is MyMilitaryConnection a service or a separate platform?

MyMilitaryConnection is a separate, mission-driven platform wholly owned and operated by WITS.

It was built to help military veterans and dependents reconnect across time, service locations, and shared experiences. While it is built using WITS CMS, it is not part of the CMS itself and is not offered as a service.

MMC operates independently with its own purpose, data, and requirements, and serves as a real-world example of how the CMS can support platforms built for specific missions.

If I use WITS CMS, who owns my website and data?

You retain full ownership of your website, your content, and your data at all times.

WITS CMS is used solely to help manage and maintain content. It does not claim ownership of your site, its layout, or its data. Those remain entirely yours, regardless of how the site is managed or hosted. Our approach is built around ensuring customers retain control and flexibility over their online presence.

Do I have to use WITS CMS to work with you?

No. While we prefer using our own CMS because it aligns with our approach to long-term ownership and maintainability, it is not required.

We are comfortable working with existing websites and platforms when it makes sense to do so. The CMS is simply one of the tools we use to support sites designed for clarity, flexibility, and owner control — not a requirement for working with us.
